Lancashire
Welcome to our Festival of Hope Lancashire
Lancashire Museums’ Hub works with young people across Burnley and Clitheroe to explore and make connections to their local heritage.
The young producers have been working to create a short film about young people’s experiences under lockdown during the global pandemic. This film will be part of the new Lancashire Archives Covid-19 collection.
The Lancashire Museum’s hub is made up of young people aged 11-20 from across Burnley, Padiham, Whalley, Clitheroe and the surrounding area, being supported by
Lancashire County Council’s Heritage Learning Team.
The group has been focusing on ways of making heritage accessible and exciting for young people, and wider themes of mental health and wellbeing, LGBTQ+ and the environment.
Alongside the Lockdown film project, our hub has planned, curated and will deliver a range of live face-to-face events next year. The hub is also looking ahead to the creation of work placements, volunteer roles and cultural apprenticeships, to change ways of working across Lancashire’s museum sites and libraries, and build young people’s voices into the way these places work.
